Harvest (Michaelmas) Festival
The days are growing shorter, the air is beginning to crisp, and the harvest is coming in. It’s time to gather before the dark fully settles — to share stories, stock up on nourishment, and remember that light and community are what hold us together when the nights are long.
Join us for a Michaelmas celebration at Folly & Friends Mustang Sanctuary where we’ll build a feast together out of what everyone brings in, listen to and participate in stories around the fire, and take a moment to name the dragons in our own lives, remembering that we have what it takes to face them.
What to Expect:
Stone Soup potluck
Interactive storytelling by Paul Deichmann, telling stories of Archangel Michael slaying the dragon, and the story of Stone Soup. Willing participants encouraged.
Apple bobbing, tasting, and cider
Live music
Bonfire
A meet and greet with the beautiful rescued mustangs at the sanctuary
What to Bring:
A dish for the potluck or an ingredient to add to our communal Stone Soup which will be simmering over the fire.
Optional: a poem, a story or song you’re proud of, or something you’re ready to release or welcome in as the year turns
BYOB
Tickets are $15 per person, children under 5 are free. Payable in advance or at the entrance. You’ll also have the opportunity to make an additional donation to the sanctuary and the mustangs who call it home, making it possible for more mustangs to have a chance at a happy healthy life..
We can’t wait to feast with you!
